Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a full-time Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering English and Mathematics Functional Skills qualifications at Levels 1 and 2 at Worthy Down Barracks in Winchester and McMullen Barracks in Marchwood. You may also be required to deliver courses at other Pearson TQ and employer sites or online when required.
This is a full-timerole of 37.5 hours per week and the successful candidate will be required to deliver 2-week Functional Skills courses in Worthy Down and Marchwood.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach English and Mathematics Functional Skills qualifications at levels 1 and 2.
  • Manage a caseload of learners to ensure they successfully complete their learning on time.
  • Provide engaging onsite and remote teaching support.
  • Conduct Speaking and Listening assessments (including recording) and complete Awarding Body paperwork.
  • Complete Tutor Rationale, Programme Plans and Learning Session Records for each learner.
  • Ensure the learner’s e-portfolio is updated with evidence of learning, achievement, feedback, communication attempts and show the learning plan.
  • Have available an up-to-date syllabus, schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials aligned to individual learner needs.
  • Prepare and use suitable teaching and learning materials which consider differentiation and individual learning styles.
  • Undertake other specified duties including course/resource development, tutorial support and associated administrative tasks.
  • Provide relevant Functional Skills statistical data to the management team.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow appropriate Quality Assurance and Risk Management systems and protocols.
  • Join the team meetings and undertake self-development training.
