We have a great opportunity for a highly motivated Functions Supervisor on a full-time contract. This is an incredible opportunity to be at the heart of the action, coordinating and facilitating functions, events, and general race day activities across our Caulfield and Sportsbet Sandown racecourses.
The successful candidate will support the seamless execution of functions and events while ensuring the professional delivery of exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders; your contributions will help to guarantee that every detail is perfect, creating an unforgettable experience for all.

As well as running elite horse racing at Caulfield, Sportsbet Sandown and Mornington Racecourses, we own 15 pub venues under the Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years “hands-on” experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Current Victorian RSA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
  • Experience managing on-shift labor costs of casual staff.
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and effectively.
  • Exceptional knowledge of food and beverage service.
  • Management experience in large-scale function and event operations (preferred).
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate all operational aspects of race-day and non-race-day events, working with internal teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Deliver events on time and within the scoped resources to meet operational key performance objectives
  • Build strong and effective working relationships with casual staff, internal and external stakeholders to foster positive outcomes.
  • Brief, supervise, and co-ordinate staff, contractors, and suppliers for functions and events
  • Optimise labor resources to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
