Description
We are seeking a Fund Accountant to build and lead the first overseas team of fund accountants for a rapidly growing fund administration firm. Your focus will be on data migration and system onboarding for a diverse and expanding client base. You’ll work closely with the head office to master our data migration process and build a high-performing team of 6-7 fund accountants. This role offers significant leadership opportunities and career growth, with your work directly driving efficient fund migrations and supporting the company’s international expansion. What You’ll Do Lead and scale a high-performing offshore fund accounting team, with plans for further expansion. Oversee data migration from client fund admin systems into the firm’s platform. Process, reformat, and validate historical data, ensuring system-ready accuracy. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, fund accounting, and tech teams to refine workflows. Implement quality control processes to ensure data integrity across clients. Train and mentor team members on technology, accounting workflows, and fund administration best practices. Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to drive efficiency and scalability. Establish and expand the first international office, laying the foundation for a larger overseas operation. Qualifications Experienced fund accountant with 5+ years in fund administration, ideally with venture capital or private equity fund exposure. Strong technical aptitude – confident in spreadsheets, general ledgers, and data systems. Team builder and leader – skilled at managing, coaching, and developing staff. Process-driven and detail-oriented – cares deeply about data accuracy and operational efficiency. Collaborative communicator – able to translate between accounting and tech perspectives. Skilled at cross-cultural communication – can align teams across time zones and cultures. Independent problem-solver – comfortable making autonomous decisions to tackle complex challenges. Entrepreneurial mindset – thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and enjoys building teams and processes from scratch. Willing to work US Eastern (NYC) hours full-time.
