Description
Reporting to the Manager of Fund Development, the Fund Development Coordinator supports the planning and execution of fundraising initiatives for Hospice Niagara. The role provides coordination and administrative support for fundraising campaigns, events and lotteries, capital, planned and monthly giving programs, and third-party fundraising activities. The Fund Development Coordinator performs all duties in a safe and healthy manner, in accordance with Hospice Niagara’s policies and procedures, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all other applicable legislation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS, EVENTS AND LOTTERIES * Assist with the planning, coordination and execution of Hospice Niagara fundraising campaigns, events and lotteries, including logistics, vendor coordination, timelines and event-day support * Coordinate volunteer scheduling in collaboration with the Coordinator of Volunteers * Assist with communications and donor recognition activities * Provide back up in-person support to all campaigns, events and lotteries * Support organizational events, i.e. Memorial Service Third-Party Events * Coordinate the distribution of planned giving materials and assist with tracking legacy commitments and documentation * Provide administrative support for legacy stewardship initiatives Monthly Giving Program * Assist with the administration and ongoing enhancement of Hospice Niagara’s monthly giving program * Support donor communications, stewardship and recognition initiatives for monthly donors * Help monitor program activity and maintain accurate donor records Funeral Home & In-Memory Giving Partnerships * Provide coordination and support to local funeral home partners who facilitate in-memory donations to Hospice Niagara * Ensure funeral homes have current materials and information to share with families Donor & Sponsorship Support * Assist in maintaining relationships with donors, sponsors and community partners * Coordinate sponsor recognition and fulfillment related to events and initiatives * Support donor appreciation and recognition activities * Assist with corporate events, i.e. Celebrating Excellence Administrative Support * Support the preparation of reports and tracking of fundraising activities * Provide back-up support to the Fund Development Data Specialist, including accurate data entry, record maintenance and database updates as required * Provide general administrative and logistical support to fund development initiatives * Other duties as assigned, consistent with the role of Fund Development Coordinator SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES * Exhibit a professional, compassionate and caring approach * Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to build positive relationships with staff, donors, volunteers and community partners * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines * Demonstrates initiative, self-direction and self-motivation * Demonstrate a healthy adjustment to loss and exercise ongoing self-care ACADEMIC, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE  * Post-secondary education in Business, Communications, Fund Development, Special Events or related discipline * 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, event coordination, nonprofit administration or a related field * Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and fundraising software, i.e. Donor Perfect and Raisin * Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as work demands * Valid driver’s license and occasional use of vehicle is required * Vulnerable Sector Police Check (favourable, within past 12 months) * Fundamentals of Palliative Care (preferred, must be completed within 12 months of hire) * Mask Fit (preferred, must be completed within 12 months of hire)
