ROLE PURPOSE

The Associate / Fund Manager is a critical relationship manager and is responsible for managing a portfolio of awardees to deliver social impact in line with each fund’s objectives. The role involves building strong relationships with stakeholders, providing capacity-building support, and overseeing project delivery across key areas such as Health, Education, Equality, Green Transition, and Social Enterprise. Success is demonstrated through impactful awardees, selected via Rethink Ireland’s transparent process, who complete a transformative capacity-building programme to enhance their local and national impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead or support the design and delivery of new funding calls, including promotion, application recruitment, selection panels, and due diligence assessments.
  • Manage a portfolio of awardees by developing strong investment relationships, monitoring progress, and holding organisations to account for delivery and impact.
  • Support awardees to define their social impact goals, develop strategic growth plans, and structure their award package, including cash and non-financial supports.
  • Co-design and deliver tailored capacity-building supports, including training sessions, workshops, and access to external consultants or peer learning.
  • Prepare and submit grant payment requests in line with awardee milestones and compliance requirements, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation.
  • Manage fund budgets, monitor expenditure, and produce high-quality financial and social impact reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate relationships between awardees, donors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure programme success and alignment with fund objectives.
  • Lead or contribute to the successful close-out of funds, including donor engagement, final impact reporting, and knowledge sharing with the wider team.
  • Implement and maintain portfolio management systems to track awardee performance, impact measurement, and financial compliance.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with community organisations, sector experts, and funders to enhance programme reach and effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership on projects, offering technical support to team members and (at Fund Manager level) guiding or line-managing staff as needed.
  • Act as an ambassador for Rethink Ireland at all times and contribute to broader organisational priorities as required.
