Job Title: Mortgage Funder
Job Summary: The Mortgage Funder is responsible for preparing loan files for funding, reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness, and authorizing loans to fund. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume pipeline in a fast-paced environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the mortgage industry; funding experience is not required but is a positive
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat; generally, tech-savvy
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to follow checklists, procedures, and adapt to new systems and workflows
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently
  • Professional, courteous, collaborative, and client-focused with a positive attitude and commitment to diversity and inclusion

Responsibilities
  • Review outstanding prior-to-funding conditions and ensure required documents are complete, accurate, and current
  • Complete funding checklists and verify loan information in the loan origination system
  • Communicate with loan officers, processors, escrow officers, and settlement agents throughout the process to ensure timely funding
  • Confirm that all underwriter conditions are met
  • Verify Wire instructions with title
  • Request daily wires from warehouse banks
  • Monitor closing timelines and resolve any issues that may delay funding
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies and regulatory requirements impacting the closing and funding process
  • Consistently meet production and quality goals
  • Work independently to manage your pipeline and meet deadlines
  • Assist with post-closing tasks, as needed
  • Provide daily status updates to the manager on all unfunded loans
