KNOWLEDGE & DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of compliance and funding environments in training/education (desirable)
  • Good level working knowledge and experience of:
  • DfE funding rules (desirable)
  • Experience of working with large datasets in Excel, Power BI, and SQL.
  • Experience in financial or funding data analysis, reporting, or similar environment.
  • Understanding of data cleaning, transformation, and visualisation techniques.
  • Experience in producing regular reporting outputs for business or operational needs.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant qualification in business, data analysis, or finance.
  • Level 2 English and maths.

SKILLS:

  • Competent in the use and purpose of technology with strong IT skills in Microsoft office, learner management systems and Virtual learning environments
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting).
  • Experience in Power BI (dashboard creation, DAX basics, Power Query).
  • SQL skills (select queries, joins, filters, aggregates[IS1] ).
  • Ability to clean, transform, and present data clearly.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong numeracy and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently to agreed deadlines.

Responsibilities

OVERALL PURPOSE & SCOPE OF ROLE

To support the Head of Funding Analysis in producing accurate, timely, and insightful funding and finance reports. The role focuses on data preparation, analysis, and reporting using Excel, Power BI, and SQL, enabling stakeholders to monitor performance, identify trends, and ensure data integrity. This role will primarily deliver operational and reporting support, allowing the Head of Funding Analysis to focus on strategic projects and the wider Data & Compliance team’s development.
