PURPOSE OF JOB/KEY OBJECTIVES

Support the Manager in completing numerous funding applications which will enable projects to be conducted throughout the year if successful. This will involve using own initiative and finding new funding opportunities through different streams of resources.

ROLE OF THE FUNDING DEPARTMENT

This department is required to consistently find and gain new funding opportunities throughout the year. This involves gaining new relationships with a variety of foundations/organisations, in order to promote the centre’s services and to discuss potential funded projects.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To research, prepare and submit applications to trusts and foundations.
  • General administration duties such as answering phone calls, dealing with client queries and maintaining project folders.
  • Working as part of a team to produce applications to Government agencies, the National Lottery, SFA and other major applications as necessary.
  • Organising, coordinating and promoting events and community-based fundraising initiatives.
  • Networking actively with stakeholders (existing partners) and customers (new partners) in the public, private and community sector to identify routes for supporting long term sustainability and short term growth.
  • Research potential market opportunities and funding sources suited to the charity’s mission and activities, and identify key contacts/techniques.
