The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg.
We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine – in the lab, in the clinic and in silico. We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and their contributing factors. The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB. In this temporary position, you will play a key role in supporting the LCSB’s fundraising strategy by managing relationships with existing and new private donors and identifying and engaging with relevant foundations. Key responsibilities include preparing proposals and communication materials, organising fundraising events and visits, and maintaining the LCSB fundraising webpage. The officer will work closely with researchers to identify funding needs, support donor meetings, and liaise with the central fundraising office. Additionally, the role includes handling administrative tasks related to donations, preparing budget reports, and managing the donor database.

Your activities:

• Serve as contact point for researchers for information about funding possibilities and related procedures
• Assist academic staff in the preparation of applications for funding - during the proposal, submission and preparation stage -, budget planning as well as management of research projects including donation conventions
• Support the preparation of reports for lay audience (e.g. progress reports, final project reports)
• Keep internal records and ensure internal cooperation and communication within the LCSB, partner institutions and central administration, as well as with other research entities and funders
• Ensure that donation proposals are pre-reviewed, submitted and followed-up after submission
• Cooperation and communication with central fundraising office and external stakeholder
