Description

The Donkey Sanctuary is an international animal welfare organisation, offering care and protection to donkeys worldwide. Our vision is a world where every donkey has a good quality of life, and our mission is to improve the lives of donkeys every day. We will achieve this by transforming the lives of donkeys in need worldwide by fostering greater understanding, collaboration and support, and by promoting lasting, mutually life-enhancing relationships.
We now have an excellent opportunity for a proactive and flexible person with outstanding copywriting and interpersonal skills and a strong customer service ethic to join our busy Fundraising Department. As Fundraising and Marketing Officer, you will provide support to the EU Fundraising Manager in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a range of individual giving fundraising and marketing activities that deepen relationships with supporters, implementing activities that recruit regular donors, donkey adopters and one-off donors and growing annual donated income from individual members of the public to TDSI.

Responsibilities

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the EU Fundraising Manager to develop individual giving materials across multiple channels, suitable to achieve donor and donkey adoption acquisition and supporter development targets.
  • Producing individual giving fundraising content for offline and online channels, including charity newsletters and social media campaigns.
  • Liaising with external suppliers (e.g. designers, media agencies etc.) to develop donor and adopter campaign materials.
  • Working with The Donkey Sanctuary (TDS) UK Digital team to ensure TDSI’s website features content that supports individual giving fundraising activities.
  • Working with the TDS UK Digital team to cultivate, develop and monitor TDSI’s paid and organic social media fundraising, including use of photo and video editing software, as required.
  • Collaborating with the Visitor Centre Team to develop on-site materials that encourage donors to adopt a donkey or make a donation.
  • Contributing to the generation of new ideas and opportunities that could be tested to engage new or existing audiences more effectively.
