Description

Are you a passionate and organized fundraising professional who wants to make a difference in the lives of women and children? Third Place is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Fundraising Coordinator to support our fundraising efforts through events, campaigns, donor engagement, and community outreach.
This is an exciting opportunity to help build and sustain critical services for women and children fleeing abuse by supporting the financial sustainability of a trauma-informed, community-based organization. If you’re a strong communicator with event planning and donor relations experience, we’d love to hear from you.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in nonprofit management, communications, event management, public relations, marketing, or a related field-or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, events, or nonprofit development.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence, systemic racism, poverty, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Experience managing social media content and digital campaigns.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, and CanadaHelps.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with grant writing or corporate sponsorships is an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable vehicle are required.
  • Must be willing to travel regularly in Colchester and East Hants and occasionally across Nova Scotia (mileage compensated).
  • Must pass Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector, and Child Abuse Registry checks.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fundraising Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Third Place’s mission through fundraising, donor engagement, and community outreach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in planning and executing annual fundraising campaigns, including online giving, donor appeals, and direct mail.
  • Organize fundraising events from start to finish-managing logistics, timelines, vendors, volunteers, and post-event evaluations.
  • Maintain and update donor databases and CRM systems with accurate and timely data.
  • Draft donor acknowledgment letters, tax receipts, and other communications.
  • Identify and research potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities.
  • Monitor fundraising metrics and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Support donor stewardship and help cultivate long-term engagement.
  • Attend and host community events and festivals to promote fundraising efforts.
  • Develop creative strategies to increase community engagement and support.
  • Collaborate with the Fundraising Committee to develop promotional materials.
  • Manage email, social media, and website content related to fundraising.
  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and Fundraising Committee.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Shelter Manager.
