OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Bench Joiner to join our dynamic team as our team supervisor. We politely ask that you do not apply if you have never made a kitchen! We are looking for an enthusiastic and extremely well organised person who is proficient in the manufacture of kitchen and other furniture for the home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various aspects of furniture manufacture, demonstrating precision in both manufacturing and assembly. This role requires a hands-on approach to making and assembling doors, drawers, frames, cornice and plinths ensuring high-quality workmanship while adhering to safety standards. You will also take an active role in setting up the cabinets ready for them to be handed over to our installations team. In addition, as the team supervisor, you will work with the office team for the handover of the plans in order to create the manufacturing cutting lists etc. You will be responsible for tracking the progress of each job through each process to ensure that manufacturing schedules are adhered to. You will support the members of the team by allocating tasks, checking that the tasks are completed on time and have overall responsibility that the job is ready for installation. You will be supported in this by our friendly experienced team. Your willingness to learn the processes, your can-do motivating attitude and previous experience of making kitchens is fundamental to your success in this role.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in making kitchens and other furniture is essential.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
  • Previous experience or the aspiration to become a leader
  • This is a varied role where you will be required to undertake a range of tasks within our workshop so you must be adaptable to take on different parts of the manufacturing process. Responsibilities
  • Reading plans, technical drawings and spreadsheets accurately to create cutting lists and cut components to the correct millimetre-perfect measurements
  • Use a range of woodworking machinery safely to manufacture the component parts for the furniture
  • Perform joinery tasks with attention to detail, ensuring all components are assembled correctly and fit together seamlessly.
  • Use a range of hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery effectively for precise cutting, shaping and finishing
  • Programming and operating CNC machines would be a particular advantage
  • Setting up the cabinets ready for installation by our fitters in our clients’ homes
  • Be proactive in Health & Safety management
  • Support the team with their day to day tasks and scheduling
  • Liaise with members of the wider team to ensure the smooth operation of the manufacturing systems and processes and the seamless transition between design, manufacturing and installation
  • Conduct heavy lifting and handling tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
