Description
Description Location: Based in Dallas, TX (National Travel Required) Salary: $52,000 per year + Performance Bonuses Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k The Role: More Than Just a Driver At SCOUT, we don’t just move boxes; we deliver pieces of art and history. We are looking for a unique hybrid professional—a Mobile Furniture Technician & OTR Driver. This isn't your average long-haul job. You are the face of SCOUT on the road, acting as both a logistics expert and a "Furniture Medic." You’ll be responsible for transporting our high-end, often vintage, collections across the United States in a 26-foot box truck. When you arrive, you aren't just dropping off; you are installing, inspecting, and—when necessary—performing "on-the-spot" repairs to ensure every piece is perfect. Essential Functions The Furniture Medic: Inspect furniture for damages or defects. Perform minor on-site repairs, touch-ups, and adjustments to ensure "showroom quality" upon delivery. White Glove Delivery: Provide elite-level service by delivering, unboxing, and perfectly placing furniture in high-end residential and commercial spaces. Assembly & Restoration: Professional assembly of Scout Label furniture and careful handling/setup of delicate vintage finds. OTR Logistics: Safely navigate a 26-foot box truck on both short-haul and long-haul national routes, collaborating with logistics to optimize schedules. Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact during delivery, managing arrival times and resolving concerns with a professional, "can-do" attitude. Vehicle & Cargo Stewardship: Properly load/unload to prevent damage, maintain a spotless vehicle, and perform routine maintenance checks. Administrative Diligence: Manage accurate delivery logs, client signatures, and meticulous expense/receipt reporting. Requirements Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean record; must be comfortable and experienced in a 26-foot box truck. Technical Skill: Proven experience in furniture repair, refinishing, or high-end assembly. You should know your way around a toolkit. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, move, and maneuver heavy, high-value furniture items (frequent physical exertion required). Travel Readiness: Must be comfortable with a nonstandard schedule and frequent overnight, multi-day travel across the country. Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for customer service. About SCOUT Located in the Dallas Design District, SCOUT is a 15,000-square-foot powerhouse of style. We curate limited-run labels, exclusive artwork, and global vintage finds. We’re known for our in-house refinishing and our "work hard, play hard" culture. We aren't for everyone—we’re for the bold, the hardworking, and the craftsmen.Think you have the hands of a medic and the soul of a nomad? Let’s talk.
