SALES ASSISTANT – HASKINS FURNITURE, SHEPTON MALLET

Full-time | Part-time considered | £12.21ph + commission + Bonuses | OTE £28,000 - £30,000
Are you friendly, enthusiastic, and passionate about home interiors? Do you love working with people and helping them find the perfect piece for their space? Haskins Furniture in Shepton Mallet is looking for a Sales Assistant to join our welcoming team!
We’re a family-run business specialising in quality furniture and renowned brands, and we’re committed to delivering an experience that goes above and beyond for our customers.

What you’ll do:

  • Greet and advise customers across upholstery, dining, and bedroom departments
  • Support customers through their buying journey—before, during, and after the sale
  • Place orders accurately on our system, capturing all customer requirements
  • Stay up to date on product knowledge, offers, and lead times
  • Maintain a tidy, beautifully presented showroom with up-to-date POS and brochures
  • Organise customer deliveries and coordinate with the warehouse team
  • Help resolve minor service issues and escalate when needed
  • Work as part of a friendly, supportive team to create a seamless customer experience

What we’re looking for:

  • A genuine people-person with excellent customer service skills
  • Punctual, reliable, and professional
  • Confident using basic IT and Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to learn and grow your product knowledge
  • Previous retail or sales experience is a bonus—but not essential; training will be provided
  • A team player who enjoys a collaborative, hands-on environment

Working hours:

  • 35 hours/week over 5 days, including weekends on a rota
  • Start: 9:30am | Finish: 5:00pm (Sundays 10:00am – 4:00pm)
  • Part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate

What we offer:
