You’ll contribute to cutting-edge research projects that explore future energy technologies and help shape EDF’s low-carbon strategy. You’ll gain experience in areas such as hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuels, low-carbon mobility and heating, and renewable energy systems. You’ll also develop technical and commercial modelling skills, support application development and collaborate with academic and industry partners. What You’ll Be Doing During your Future Energy Systems Industrial Placement, you’ll work with our R&D teams to support and deliver innovation projects. Past students have developed Python-based optimisation models, sourced data for applications, liaised with technology suppliers and followed emerging trends in the hydrogen industry. This placement offers hands-on learning in a collaborative environment. You’ll build skills in mechanical modelling, coding, stakeholder engagement and technical reporting, while working alongside experts from EDF UK and EDF R&D in France. Your Work Location This placement is based at our EDF R&D Centre in #London (Victoria). We offer flexible working, so you’ll have the opportunity to work remotely from time to time. Who You Are To be eligible for this EDF industrial placement, you need to be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering, physics, maths or another related subject.
