Job Description A factory worker performs manual and machine-assisted tasks on the production floor to help manufacture, assemble, and package products in a safe and efficient way. Core responsibilities Operate basic factory machinery or work on an assembly line to produce or assemble parts according to instructions and production standards. Inspect products during and after production, remove defective items, and complete simple quality checks to ensure items meet specifications. Package finished goods, label them correctly, and prepare them for storage or shipment while keeping the work area clean and organized. Safety and work environment Follow all safety rules, wear required personal protective equipment, and immediately report hazards, equipment issues, or accidents to supervisors. Maintain machines and tools in good condition by performing basic cleaning and routine checks and notifying maintenance teams when problems arise. Work as part of a production team to meet daily output targets while maintaining quality and minimizing waste or rework. Qualifications For a factory worker, typical qualifications are: Basic education such as completion of secondary school or equivalent; some roles accept 10th pass depending on country and plant. Ability to read instructions, safety signs, and simple production documents, plus basic numeracy for counts, weights, and measurements. Physical fitness to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a repetitive, fast-paced environment; prior factory or warehouse experience is often preferred but not always required.
