The Position The Level I, Financial Wellness Partner (FWP) – Proposals (FWP – Proposals 1), administers Consumer Proposal files, and resolves various proposal matters in a proactive manner utilizing established department procedures. Interaction with debtors, external stakeholders, and other team members is required frequently to carry out the duties of this role. Interaction with Debtors is required. Key Accountabilities Proposal Administration: Adhere to BIA and OSB Directives relating to the administration of Div II Consumer Proposals regarding compliance of filing/reporting deadlines. Document all Consumer Proposal Administration information according to BSI’s Best Practices and guidelines. Utilize the Proposal Administration dashboards to review estate files, track client performance, completion and readiness for discharge. Monitor clients’ payment performance and follows up with debtor(s) on any Non-Sufficient Funds (NSFs), arrears, late or missed payments. Follow due diligence i.e. verify all information in compliance to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA) and Privacy Act. Deliver quality and timely general administration service on a daily and weekly basis. Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose and escalate issues within the context of established rules and procedures. Use specific guidelines to make decisions and seek Level II FWP input when dealing with ambiguity or complex issues (i.e. high-risk assets). Process the Debtor’s information by using applicable insolvency software. Education, Knowledge & Skills: Must Have: High School Diploma/GED Basic understanding of relevant legislation such as the BIA Excellent communication & time management skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products and internet applications with a strong aptitude for learning new computer programs Nice to have: Enrollment in the Insolvency Administrators Qualification Course 1 or more years of relevant work experience in insolvency Working knowledge of an Insolvency software or industry specific software. Post-Secondary Diploma in related field is an asset Job Specific Competencies: Critical thinking to assess situations that require higher level intervention.
