Entity: Supply, Trading & Shipping Job Family Group: Supply & Trading Group Job Description: About BP Financial Markets Trading: Sitting within BP’s supply, trading & shipping (ST&S) organisation, Financial Markets Trading (FMT) is the interface to global financial markets, handling the Group risks in foreign exchange, interest rates, and cash management, while generating discretionary trading revenue. FMT contributes to the organization through: Competitive market access and pricing via the banking community Active management of FX and interest rate exposures for business divisions Providing experienced advice on financial markets, defining executable hedging and trading strategies where necessary Trusted advisory support to the Group and its affiliates Incremental revenue generation through discretionary trading Strong leadership on controls, compliance and culture aligned to BP’s core values FMT has three trading units around the world - London, Singapore & Chicago. This enables us to offer the Group 24-hour coverage, five days a week. Accountabilities: As a member of the Financial Markets Trading team in Singapore, the successful candidate will be accountable for a broad range of activities, including: Partner with traders, originators and functional assurance experts and advise BP businesses and affiliates on effective management of market risk across existing and proposed commercials structures. Build and maintain an understanding of products and commercial strategies across BP’s traded commodity markets (e.g. oil, gas, power). Being a self-starter, taking ownership of trade ideas from view formation to execution, contributing to overall performance. Close collaboration with regional treasury, Operations and support teams to address day-to-day issues quickly, enabling seamless support to group while maintaining operational safety. Support Treasury workstreams in restricted Asian markets to protect and improve Group value. Set the standard for ethical conduct in all internal and external interactions, aligned with BP’s core values. Essential Experience and job requirements: Dedicated individual with an entrepreneurial outlook who independently generates and implements trading opportunities. Track record of generating discretionary trading income across FX, other products desirable. Quantitative and/or mathematical background, along with prior experience in exposure mapping and hedging cashflow across complex products, would be a plus. Confident, constructive challenger who speaks up and contributes to transparent discussions on risk and strategy across global trading centres. Understanding of regulatory environment in Asian financial markets. Reputation for excellent partner service both internally and externally. Proven dedication to strong governance, compliance and risk standards.
