Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We’re excited to offer a rewarding role for a Glove and Barrier Line Mechanic (G & B Line Mechanic) to join our Overhead team based in Tauranga. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of power lines. Reporting to the Project Supervisor, you will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power distribution network.

As a G&B Line Mechanic, you will also be responsible for:

  • Carrying out routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on overhead and underground power lines
  • Safely installing new lines, transformers, and related gear
  • Minimising downtime while ensuring everything runs smoothly
  • Conducting safety tests and inspections to meet compliance standards
  • Useing and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles for line work
  • Working with your team to complete jobs on time
  • Responding to emergencies, like power outages or storm damage, and restore services quickly when needed
  • Following safety protocols and encouraging a safety-first mindset within the team.
