Description The successful employee will be responsible for management of gages across all facilities, including the operations of the gage lab personnel. Responsible for systematically tracking gaging to ensure it is calibrated to the frequency required by our quality system. Coordinate with outside service providers and customers to ensure any gaging sent out for calibration or review is done in a timely manner. Order new gaging as needed for new jobs or to replace existing gaging when approval is granted. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Ensure correct gages are available and properly kitted for upcoming jobs; set-up tooling per instructions · Assist inspection and operations teams with gaging needs. · Perform all internal gage calibration processes. · Set up of all gage types (Johnson, Sunnen, etc) · Inspect and calibrate gaging (Acutec and employee owned) in a timely basis, per the required calibration schedules. · Track the location of all gaging and ensure it is returned and issues in a timely manner. · Track and monitor gages that are sent out for inspection. · Request gages from Acutec customers when required. · Clean gaging before returning to inventory or sending out to floor. · Maintain and distribute an Out of Tolerance report and advise employees of personal gaging that is approaching an unacceptable condition. · Tear down and sort tooling and place in appropriate location. · Notify personnel of low inventory levels of tooling and tooling accessories. · Provide tooling technical support to programmers and production personnel. · Monitor durable tool inventory for excess and shortages, order replacement durables and dispose of unused durables as necessary. · Communicate between vendors and coworkers to maintain continuity between shifts and proper inventory levels of tooling. · Key Roles · Perform and supervise necessary calibration of gaging (internal and external) and maintenance of company and employee-owned gages. · Maintain advanced knowledge of types, grades, and application usage of all used tooling. · Advise programmer, team leads and operators of correct cutting data and application of cutting tools; track usage and location of gaging accurately, ensuring gages are available. · Works well with internal customers (operations and quality teams) and suppliers Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education & Experience Requirements: · A high school education and three to nine months experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent education and experience. · Strong math, algebra, geometry, and computer skills are required for this position. · High mechanical aptitude. · Ability to utilize various software packages related to the position · Experience with tooling and gaging is preferred. Required Knowledge and Skills: The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form. The employee must be very detail oriented. Supervisory Responsibilities Required to train and assist other employees.
