The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest regulators. Within Regulatory Services, we minimise harm and maximise benefit through effective oversight of the gambling system under the Gambling Act 2003. We work collaboratively, use intelligence and innovation, and target regulatory effort where it makes the greatest difference. The role As a Gambling Regulator, based in Auckland, you will play a critical role in delivering responsive, risk‑based regulation across the gambling sector. You will: * Undertake audits, investigations and compliance activity * Conduct venue and casino inspections * Assess and process licensing and regulatory decisions * Engage confidently with operators and stakeholders to lift compliance and promote best practice * Work collaboratively across a national team of regulators No two days are the same. This role requires sound judgement, resilience, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex regulatory environment.
