Description

Chaos Theory is looking for a Game Marketer & Community Manager to join our Sydney-based game development studio filled with passionate developers, designers, and artists. This is a newly created position, 2 days a week for a 3 month contract, starting ASAP. Remote work is an option, however, being able to work in our Chippendale office is preferred.
The position will see you working alongside our Executive Creative Director and Managing Director to plan, execute, and manage the marketing and community management for our latest PC/Console game.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Professional experience with digital marketing and community management.
  • Competence in digital marketing technologies and analytics tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex concepts to a variety of different audiences.
  • Ability to design marketing collateral and produce video content for promotional purposes.
  • Basic photography, image and video editing and graphic design skills.
  • A love for games is essential!

Responsibilities
  • Set up and configure Discord server, including channels, roles, moderation tools, bots, welcome messages, and community guidelines.
  • Develop a content calendar for Discord and social media platforms.
  • Plan weekly content themes such as behind-the-scenes posts, developer updates, and community Q&As.
  • Draft and maintain the content calendar using tools that suit the workflow.
  • Manage and update the content calendar with content provided by the development team.
  • Collaborate with developers and production to gather draft content and updates.
  • Proofread and post content on Discord and other relevant platforms.
  • Monitor and engage with the player community on Discord.
  • Flag important posts or questions for developer attention.
  • Share weekly updates (e.g., dev updates, WIP previews, community prompts).
  • Participate in online game dev communities (e.g., #screenshotsaturday).
  • Create shortform gameplay clips using simple video editing tools.
  • Post content on Reddit, TikTok, and Bluesky.
