Big Box VR, makers of POPULATION: ONE, is seeking an experienced Server Software Engineer who can help build the future of games. You are a skilled communicator, adept at collaborating with the team to create, iterate, and finalize designs to make our user journey as clear as possible. You have a clear vision for what is needed to make complex interactions easy to learn and enjoyable to use on an ongoing basis. You value giving and receiving constructive feedback knowing that working together makes the best products.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience running a live web service that can scale horizontally
  • Experience working and running web services
  • Demonstrated experience working in self-managed, outcome focused environments
  • Experience learning new programming languages, systems, and devices
  • Experience completing a ship cycle for a product
  • Bachelor in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • You have multiple years of experience running web services in production and have working knowledge of server-based multi-user game engineering design

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Unity3D
  • Experience with PHP/Hack, Python, C# and the .NET runtime
  • Extensive background in Augmented Reality or Virtual Reality
  • Prior experience working in Meta Infrastructure
