Perfect Gap Year Opportunity – Maths & English Tutors Wanted
Location: NumberWorks’nWords, Bromley
Hours: Weekdays 3:45pm–6:00pm (with extra daytime lessons available)| Saturdays 9:00am–1:00pm
Pay: Competitive hourly wages + holiday pay

At NumberWorks’nWords Bromley, we believe learning should be fun, inspiring, and tailored to each individual. We offer face-to-face Maths and English tutoring for students aged 5–16 in a supportive, high-energy environment that makes academic progress something children genuinely enjoy.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Gap year students looking for rewarding work experience
  • You have GCSE grades 7 or above in English and/or Maths (A-Level or university-level study is a plus!)
  • You’re passionate about tutoring and enjoy working with children and teens
  • You have excellent communication skills and a confident, friendly manner
  • You want to make a real difference while working in a fun, engaging setting
  • You’re reliable, professional, and a true team player
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to undergo a check (essential)
Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

Taking a year out before uni or your next step? This role gives you valuable paid experience working with children, boosting your CV, and building skills in communication, teaching, and leadership – all while having fun and making a real difference.
It’s also a great way to keep your own Maths and English skills sharp, so you return to university or further study without losing momentum.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver fun, interactive, and personalised tutoring in Maths and/or English
  • Motivate students with different abilities and learning styles
  • Bring energy and enthusiasm to every lesson
  • Build confidence and academic skills in a positive, nurturing environment
  • Collaborate with a supportive team to continually improve student outcomes
  • Commit to a regular, term-time schedule (training provided)
