Job Summary: The Garage Porter keeps designated garage area and outside vehicle lots neat and orderly. Keeps customer and staff traffic moving, and locates available parking. In accordance with Erlanger parking policy assists Security with lost cars, car boosts, and surveillance, enforces Erlanger smoke free campus policy. Other duties as assigned related to Parking Department. Education: Required: High School Graduate or equivalent Preferred: High School Graduate or equivalent Experience: Required: 2+ years' experience in security and customer service Preferred: Experience in security or customer service Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: Valid driver's license Preferred: C Endorsement Driver's License Department Position Summary: Erlanger's Parking and Transportation Services Department controls, organizes, and has day to day operation of system parking. Includes all parking garages, outside lots and shuttle service for staff members for all campuses. The Garage Porter is responsible for keeping all entrances leading into hospital neat and clean; notifies garage staff of items that need to be addressed for cleaning. Takes role in Erlanger's no smoking policy within the garage by speaking with staff and visitors regarding the smoke free policy. Assists customers with locating their cars. Provides free battery boosts within the garage, and assists customers with car issues by calling tow companies or calling someone to help customer. Is the eyes and ears for Security in the garage, notifying Security of possible issues, using company cell phone or radio. Helps all customers find parking and provides directions to open parking areas. Remains aware at all times where open parking spaces are available. Keeps log of all maintenance issues and keeps director informed of scheduled repairs. Reports all equipment failure to garage company; responds to equipment failure, and assists customers until garage staff arrives. Assists in all garage backups with direction assistance to customers and staff. Help customers 100%25 of the time to have a better experience in the garage.
