Description Garage Team Lead – 2nd Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday Hours: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM Position Summary The Garage Team Lead is responsible for supporting daily garage operations while providing leadership, direction, and hands-on support to the team during the 2nd shift. This position will assist with coordinating workflow, prioritizing repairs, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. The Garage Team Lead will serve as a key point of contact for the garage team during the assigned shift, supporting team productivity, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and communicating operational updates to leadership. This role requires a strong mechanical background, leadership skills, and the ability to work independently while managing daily priorities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead and support garage team members during the 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 11:00 PM) Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily maintenance and repair tasks to ensure timely completion Provide guidance and support to team members to promote accountability and productivity Assist with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issues with fleet vehicles, trailers, equipment, and company assets Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work Support preventative maintenance programs and ensure repairs are completed properly and documented accurately Ensure equipment and vehicles are maintained in a safe and operational condition Communicate maintenance concerns, delays, and operational updates to management Monitor proper use and care of tools, equipment, and shop resources Maintain a clean, organized, and safe garage environment Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and company guidelines Assist with parts and inventory management as needed Step in and support the team with daily tasks to keep operations running efficiently Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications Previous experience in a garage, fleet maintenance, diesel, automotive, or equipment repair environment preferred Prior leadership, supervisor, or team lead experience preferred Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices preferred Ability to read and understand repair instructions, work orders, and maintenance documentation Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to make decisions and provide direction when management is not present Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of quality and safety Must provide and maintain personal tools required to perform job duties. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions throughout the shift Ability to lift, push, pull, and move tools, equipment, and parts as needed Ability to work in a garage environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, varying temperatures, and mechanical hazards
