Description Hardside and Garden Center Team Members honor the Murdoch’s mission, values, and principles by providing exceptional customer service and performing day-to-day operations in the Garden Center and Yard. Under the direction of the department lead(s) and manager(s), the Garden Center Associate maintains the look and feel of the Garden Center and Yard through merchandising, stocking, and accomplishing assigned tasks throughout the workday and throughout the entire department, with their primary focus always on serving our customers. Key Areas of Responsibility: Commit to the success of the team by embracing Murdochs’ mission, values, and principles Provide exceptional customer service with a focus on the customer’s needs and solutions that meet them, in a manner that makes them feel valued and welcome in our stores Support the department lead(s) and manager(s) to facilitate the highest standards in merchandising, and store appearance Merchandise, stock, re-stock, and recover products within the department according to Murdoch’s merchandising standards Complete inventory pricing and maintenance duties Develop product knowledge across the breadth of products in the Garden Center and Yard Create and maintain a safe environment for customers and team members Perform load outs, carry outs, and deliveries as needed Work with the Assistant Store Manager to develop and achieve goals Exhibit proper radio and phone etiquette Other duties as needed, throughout the store Requirements Skill Set Requirements: Strong communication (written, oral, and interpersonal) skills Strong organizational skills Positive attitude and demonstrated practice of learning Excel in a fast-paced, evolving work environment Familiar with standard concepts and practices within the retail environment Strong Windows-based computer skills – especially with Microsoft products Physical Demands: Standing for long periods of time in inclement weather Heavy and repetitive lifting (up to 50 lbs.) Bending, carrying, and pushing Working on a ladder Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard Close vision for computer work Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions
