Overview GARDEN CENTRE ASSOCIATE Let’s Grow Together! Passionate about plants and great with customers? In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day plant care, stocking and merchandising of product within the Garden Centre while interacting with and assisting customers (this role does not include cashier responsibilities). What we offer: Seasonal work: April to July Scheduled Shifts: Part Time leading to Full Time as the season progresses. Pay: $17.60/hour, vacation pay, stat pay, if eligible, and paid training. Fast-paced, supportive team environment Opportunities to return for future seasons! Responsibilities: Provide superior customer service by being approachable, welcoming and friendly to customers. Water, cull, and care for plant inventory. (primarily flowers and vegetable plant). Move/merchandise plant inventory from growers' racks to the retail floor. Stock and merchandise plants according to merchandising guidelines and ensuring pricing and signage are accurate. Assist customers with questions about plant care, product variety, and availability, resolving inquiries professionally and efficiently. Assist with soil management – pricing and inventory counts. Complete administrative tasks such as tracker for watering schedule, sprinkler system functionality. Communicate daily via app/email, time validation, plant care updates, markdowns, fast sellers and pricing updates Requirements: Knowledge of or interest in learning about plants, gardening, and landscaping practices. Previous customer service, merchandising and/or retail experience is considered an asset. Ability to repeatedly lift up to 20 pounds throughout the shift. Capable of standing, bending, lifting and stretching for extended periods. Reliable transportation is required Must have a smart phone (required for time validation). Required to wear steel-toed shoes/boots. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Scheduling and Availability: Initial scheduling requirement: Morning shifts starting at approximately 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. As the season progresses, hours may increase from part time to full time based on performance and business needs. Full availability during peak season (mid-May through June), including weekends and statutory holidays, preferred.
