BACKGROUND

Atkins is well known for its retail businesses and for being the franchise holder for several leading brands of farm and garden machinery for the Cork/Southern Ireland area. We also have a successful garden machinery parts wholesale business. We are the market leaders in Ireland and the export business is significant too. An opportunity has arisen to take over from our existing business development manager who will leave at the end of the August.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Minimum 5 years post education work experience;
  • Full driving license;
  • IT literacy;
  • Familiarity with the garden machinery industry and/or technical knowledge an advantage.
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Seek opportunities for and drive sales of the company’s portfolio of garden machinery spare parts to wholesale customers both in Ireland and abroad. This also requires engaging and negotiating with suppliers to optimise sourcing and manage the supply chain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Look out for and go after sales opportunities with new and existing customers;
  • Negotiate offline (bulk) sales orders with customers and enter such orders on the system;
  • Plan stock and place purchase orders based on forecasted sales volumes;
  • Determine selling prices for different classes of customer and enter same to the business system;
  • Ensure any customers’ issues are resolved;
  • Monitor the stock aging profile and take corrective action as required;
  • Support colleagues (branch manager, parts advisors, warehouse team) in their roles as required.
