Atkins is a long established and leading player in both the farm and garden machinery sectors in Ireland. From our headquarters at Carrigrohane road we operate a significant garden machinery business representing some of the most popular brands in the industry including Husqvarna, Kubota, Honda, Echo and Briggs & Stratton. We offer a complete portfolio including robot mowers, walk behind and ride-on mowers, compact tractors and all types of handheld garden machinery. Arising from the incumbent moving to another role in the company we have a vacancy for a service advisor at the main customer facing service desk in the showroom. This is a busy and central role.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Completed second level education
  • Competent PC skills
  • Prior experience of a customer facing role an advantage
  • A basic mechanical understanding an advantage

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Provide an efficient service desk function to customers and support the efficient operation of the workshop.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet customers and book in workshop job
  • Allocate jobs to mechanics
  • Invoice completed jobs
  • Liaise with mechanics, the service supervisor, the parts dept, drivers and others in the business to ensure smooth passage of work through the workshop and avoid delays
  • Help customers unload/load machinery coming in/going out
  • Take customers’ phonecalls/whatsapp messages/emails booking in jobs, requesting callouts, enquiring of the status of work, etc.
  • Attend to service related complaints (escalate if necessary)
  • Call customers for payment for work done offsite and follow up with customers if payment is outstanding
  • Maintain the workshop department’s deliveries/collections schedule
  • Maintain the jobs board to ensure jobs are processed and closed as required
  • Ensure machines in for work are stored/parked tidily
  • File completed jobcards, PDI sheets, etc. orderly
  • Cashout the workshop till daily
  • Cover the sales desk at quiet times and during the lunch rotations
