YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Tertiary qualification or equivalent in Recreational Therapy, Education or relevant Allied Health discipline.
• Current VIT Registration (registered teacher) or current registration with AHPRA or relevant professional body (for example The Occupational Therapy Board of Australia or AASW for Social workers)
• Horticultural experience or strong interest in horticulture
• Demonstrated commitment to work and contribute as part of a team
• Experience with children and families from diverse backgrounds and with complex needs
• Previous experience within an acute hospital or health related context is desirable
• Thorough understanding of childhood development between the ages of 0-18 years

• Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
• Valid Working with Children Check
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain
• Compliance with RCHs “Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure

This is a 6 month Fixed Term Part Time position at 30.4 hours per fortnight ending 23/11/2025 within the Child Life Therapy and Music Therapy Department at the RCH.
You will be responsible for providing therapeutic garden experiences for patients and their families under the direction of the coordinator of the Therapeutic Garden Program. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and development of several designated therapeutic garden spaces.
Classification for this position will range from VZ2 – VZ6 (FTE base salary $69,206 to $84,188 pro rata per annum, plus superannuation).
