Description

We are seeking a dedicated Gardening and Maintenance Officer to join our team at BaptistCare Kintyre Village. This full time permanent role is crucial in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our retirement living facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining our grounds and private gardens as required including hedging, hand and spray weeding, lawn care and irrigation repairs with the remaining time assisting with maintenance tasks. In addition you will work closely with the Village Manager and other staff to ensure the overall upkeep of the village including pool and parking area. With this position focussing on the gardens you will soon see the fruits of your labour and gain job satisfaction from your efforts.
Please note that the vehicle used on site is a manual Ute so a manual drivers license is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous demonstrated gardening, horticulture or agriculture experience
  • Maintenance experience is desirable.
  • Current manual Driver’s License.
  • Experience managing property related contractors
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) in the workplace.
  • Empathy, flexibility, and patience

Responsibilities
  • Perform gardening duties, including hedging and general garden maintenance.
  • Support and assist with executing maintenance work.
  • Conduct physical inspections of property and premises and report any issues.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is compliant and up-to-date.
  • Work effectively with contractors to ensure our grounds are maintained to a high standard.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients to support workplace harmony and efficient service delivery.
