Trim Landscaping is a full-service landscaping company that provides commercial and large-scale high-end residential landscaping services in Nova Scotia. We are continually growing and are looking to add a Gardening Crew Leader to our team in Bedford! QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on landscaping or horticulture experience
  • Prior experience supervising a crew or leading a team is strongly preferred
  • Solid knowledge of plant care, soil health, pruning, and seasonal maintenance practices
  • Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and maintenance schedules
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (ability to drive crew truck if needed)

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of gardeners and labourers on residential and commercial job sites
  • Delegate daily tasks and ensure all crew members understand their responsibilities
  • Train new employees on horticultural techniques, equipment use, and company standards
  • Foster a positive and respectful team environment aligned with Trim’s core values
  • Read and interpret landscape plans and maintenance schedules
  • Organize tools, equipment, and materials for daily work
  • Oversee planting, weeding, edging, pruning, mulching, and other horticultural tasks
  • Manage seasonal cleanups, annual installations, perennial care, and general garden maintenance
  • Conduct site walkthroughs to assess quality and horticultural practices
  • Identify and address plant health issues, pest/disease concerns, and irrigation needs
  • Lead by example by following safe work procedures and reporting incidents or near misses
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for clients and provide professional communication
  • Report client feedback, concerns, or change requests to the Operations Manager
  • Ensure daily equipment checks are completed and tools are properly maintained
  • Keep vehicles and trailers clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Track crew hours and submit daily timesheets accurately
  • Complete job logs or work reports as required
  • Monitor job progress and report any delays, issues, or material shortages
  • Run a snow route & crew during the winter months while operating a plow truck
  • Other duties as needed
