Description

We have partnered with a leading family-owned business in the heating and air conditioning industry based in Winnipeg, MB, to find a certified Gas Fitter to join their growing team. With a strong reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction, this company is committed to providing top-tier HVAC and refrigeration solutions to residential and commercial clients. The Gas Fitter will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of residential gas systems. This includes gas piping, as well as installing and venting furnaces, fireplaces, ranges, and BBQs in new home applications. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high customer service standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Gas Fitter or similar role;
  • MB Gas Fitter’s License required (Class A or B);
  • MB Driver’s License required;
  • Strong knowledge of gas piping, appliance installation, and venting systems;
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot gas-related issues with precision and safety;
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team;
  • Must have own tools required to perform work safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, and test gas piping and appliances in accordance with specifications, codes, and manufacturer guidelines;
  • Install and vent furnaces, fireplaces, ranges, and BBQs in residential new home applications;
  • Perform regular maintenance and preventive service on gas appliances to ensure safe and efficient operation;
  • Diagnose and repair issues with gas piping, burners, valves, controls, and related components;
  • Use appropriate testing equipment to verify gas pressure, system performance, and safety compliance;
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system conditions;
  • Ensure compliance with all safety codes, regulations, and environmental standards for gas installation and service;
  • Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates on work status and explaining system conditions or required repairs;
  • Collaborate with builders, contractors, and other technicians to ensure proper installation and timely project completion;
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.
