Trade Recruit is working on behalf of a well-established and highly reputable client in Derbyshire to source an experienced, professional, and fully certified Gas Engineer for ongoing subcontractor work. This opportunity is ideal for a reliable and knowledgeable engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality service and has extensive hands-on experience in the gas industry.
You will be responsible for a range of gas-related tasks across domestic and light commercial properties. Assignments will include boiler installations, servicing, landlord certification, fault-finding, and reactive repairs. All work must be completed to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer care. This role offers consistent, long-term work with a client that is known for its integrity, well-structured operations, and commitment to excellence.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • You must have your own van and full set of tools.
  • You must carry valid public liability insurance.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is required.
  • Ability to provide references or examples of previous subcontract work if requested.
  • Competence in managing documentation and job records digitally or in hard copy format.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out gas appliance servicing, maintenance, and installations in residential and commercial settings.
  • Conduct safety inspections and issue landlord gas safety certificates (CP12s). * Diagnose and repair faults on gas boilers and central heating systems.
  • Complete all work in line with Gas Safe regulations and company compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, including reports, job sheets, and certifications.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction at all times. * Represent both Trade Recruit and the end client with professionalism and integrity on every project. Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience as a Gas Engineer.
  • Current and valid Gas Safe registration.
  • Relevant ACS qualifications (e.g. CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1).
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical experience with installation, servicing, and maintenance.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Demonstrable commitment to health and safety procedures and industry regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
