Description

Key responsibilities

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, burst pipes, and malfunctioning fixtures.
  • Cutting, shaping, and joining pipes and fittings, often working from blueprints or technical drawings.
  • Servicing heating systems and radiators, and responding to emergency call-outs for issues like boiler breakdowns.
  • Adhering to safety regulations and building codes, ensuring the quality and safety of installations and repairs.
  • Providing excellent customer service, including explaining repairs and costs, answering questions, and maintaining a clean workspace.
  • Bathroom installations.

Key qualifications

  • Essential:
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Full UK Driving Licence (often required for mobile roles).
  • Proven experience in plumbing, ideally in a relevant setting (e.g., social housing, commercial, domestic maintenance).
  • Gas Safe Registration.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience with specific systems like HVAC, Medical Gas, or BMS.
  • Strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work in various conditions (e.g., tight spaces, heights).
