Description

ABOUT US

Northern Eco and Renewables Ltd is a Barnsley-based energy services company specialising in Gas Safety Inspections, Heating Services, Retrofit Assessments, Solar Installations, and Energy Efficiency Solutions. We work with landlords, letting agents, and domestic clients across South Yorkshire, delivering safe, compliant, and cost-effective heating solutions.

Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE

The Gas Service Team Manager will lead and support the company’s team of gas engineers across South Yorkshire. This is a dual role, combining management and hands-on technical work. The postholder will be responsible for team performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction, while also being able to respond to jobs directly — including servicing, breakdowns, installations, and emergency callouts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, manage, and coordinate gas engineers to deliver inspections (CP12), servicing, breakdowns, and installations across South Yorkshire.
  • Attend and respond to jobs personally when required (servicing, breakdowns, repairs, and callouts).
  • Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe Register, HSE regulations, and landlord safety requirements.
  • Conduct site audits and quality assurance checks on engineer performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and act as escalation point for complex jobs.
  • Plan schedules, allocate resources, and oversee daily operations.
  • Manage stock, parts, and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and certification for compliance purposes.
  • Liaise with landlords, letting agents, tenants, and key stakeholders to resolve service issues quickly.
  • Support company development in renewable and low-carbon heating systems.
