Description
OVERVIEW To oversee all gas and electrical operated equipment, and diagnose and rectify faults when unplanned breakdowns occur within the Catering Services Department. This position reports directly to the Manager Catering Services. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Conducting scheduled maintenance and regular inspections of all catering equipment. Performing repairs and modifications as required. Assist with project work, breakdown attendance, and daily, weekly, and monthly checks to ensure operational efficiency. Managing and recommending spare parts for gas equipment to be kept in technical stores for immediate use. Liaising with the suppliers to ensure availability of the equipment’s. Provide expert insight to ensure most practicable equipment is sourced in consultation with the Catering Services Management. Conducting tests to verify the safety and functionality of gas appliances and systems, including safety devices and leak detection. Performing routine checks and maintenance on gas systems and other catering equipment’s to ensure they are in optimal working condition. Troubleshooting and fixing issues with gas appliances and systems, including leaks and malfunctions. Perform any other relevant function assigned by the department manager. Requirements Pass in Year 12 or equivalent. Must have successfully completed an Apprenticeship or equivalent of a Trade Certificate in Electrical, Plumbing or Gas Fitter. Minimum of five (5) years proven work experience. Must have a valid LTA Full Group 2 driver’s license (Manual). A valid Electrical or Plumbing license would be an advantage. Sound knowledge of electrical systems, fabrication work, and brazing. Familiarity with and experience in mechanical engineering or plumbing maintenance would be an advantage.
