Description Our agency is in search of a Gastroenterologist, interested in making a difference, working with the veteran population. We are offering a full-time position for 1+ years, in the beautiful area of Augusta, ME. Please find the details below: Dates of contract - 5/25/26 - 5/29/27 (plus likely extension, if desired) Location: VA Maine Healthcare System, 1 VA Center Augusta ME 04330 Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Call: One (1) weekend in four (4) rotation (1 weekend on and 3 weekends off) and one (1) holiday in every four (4) holidays rotation. This will require carrying a hospital cell phone/pager and the ability to respond by phone within 15 minutes and in person within 1 hour. $300 per hour Paid Malpractice Sign on bonus Requirements -Any active, unencumbered state license -Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology -ACLS, BLS -DEA -NPI Scope: Clinical Care Surgical Care: Colonoscopy Colonoscopy via colostomy Colonoscopy w/biopsy(ies) Colonoscopy w/ablation of tumor/polyp/lesion Colonoscopy w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forceps Colonoscopy w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare technique Colonoscopy w/out biopsy Colonoscopy w/ submucosal Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) EGD diagnostic EGD w/biopsy(ies) EGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forceps EGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare technique Requirements Must have valid state license BC Clean professional and criminal record
Responsibilities
The Gastroenterologist will provide clinical and surgical care to the veteran population at the VA Maine Healthcare System. Responsibilities include performing procedures such as colonoscopies and EGDs, as well as participating in a weekend and holiday on-call rotation.
