Seeking Gastroenterology Hospitalists at UPMC Locations in the Pittsburgh Area The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) invites applications for full-time and part-time gastroenterology hospitalist faculty members at the clinical assistant, associate, and professor of medicine levels. Primary appointments are within the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Opportunities are available at these sites or a combination of sites: UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital UPMC St. Margaret Hospital UPMC Mercy Hospital UPMC Presbyterian-Shadyside Hospital Service: Includes inpatient and outpatient clinical care with 18 inpatient weeks, 18 lighter weeks comprised of OP Procedure sessions and/or OP Clinic sessions, 10 off weeks, 4 weeks of vacation, and 2 weeks for CME education. Opportunities to build your career beyond clinical work include: Clinical and Qualitative Research in focused areas of interest Teaching fellows, clinical trainees, and medical students Leadership roles based on experience. Gastroenterologists and graduating GI fellows with board eligibility are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
The role involves providing clinical care across inpatient settings (18 weeks) and lighter weeks dedicated to outpatient procedure sessions and/or clinic sessions. Opportunities exist beyond direct patient care, including clinical and qualitative research, teaching trainees, and assuming leadership roles.
