ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATION, OR WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical Certificate six months to one year medical experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • SGNA GI Associate’s Program - Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) within 1-1/2 Yrs
Responsibilities
  • Transports and transfers patients.
  • Prepares the room for procedure in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains efficiency in handling equipment at physician’s request during procedures.
  • Verifies specimens with Physician and Registered Nurse.
  • Achieves and maintains a working knowledge of equipment and tools.
  • Assists in positioning patient or equipment for procedure as well as hooking the patient up to the patient monitor.
  • Assists with secretarial/clerical duties as needed.
  • Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintanence and repair requests and prepare related forms.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment.
  • Keeps stock and equipment inventories.
