GiaCare Inc. is accepting applications from experienced Gastroenterology Technicians (GI Technicians) for a future opportunity supporting Evans Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, Colorado. This position is being recruited in anticipation of contract award. Qualified candidates will be considered for employment upon contract award. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Join a collaborative gastroenterology team providing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy support to active duty service members, military retirees, and their families. This position plays an essential role in preparing procedure rooms, assisting providers during endoscopic procedures, and ensuring the safe reprocessing of endoscopic equipment in accordance with infection prevention standards. SCHEDULE * Full-Time * Clinic hours: 6:00 AM-6:00 PM * 8-hour shifts * Start times vary based on clinic needs * No on-call RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare procedure rooms and equipment for endoscopic procedures * Assist physicians and nursing staff during diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures * Clean, disinfect, and reprocess flexible endoscopes in accordance with High-Level Disinfection (HLD) standards * Prepare and transport specimens as directed * Monitor equipment functionality and report maintenance needs * Maintain procedure documentation and patient records * Ensure procedure rooms are stocked and ready for patient care * Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and quality assurance standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * U.S. Citizen * Graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Medical Assisting program, or * Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA-AAMA), or * Registered Medical Assistant (RMA-AMT), or * Military equivalent meeting contract requirements * Minimum 12 months of bedside hospital experience within the past 24 months * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification * High Level Disinfection (HLD) training/certification for endoscope reprocessing PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Previous Gastroenterology or Endoscopy experience * Experience assisting with upper and lower GI procedures * Knowledge of flexible endoscope reprocessing * Military or federal healthcare experience * Strong patient care and teamwork skills WHY GIACARE?
