Description SUMMARY Responsible for providing a warm welcome and create a positive first impression to all Resort Guests and Visitors. Provide a high level of service to create a memorable experience as soon as guests enter the resort and promote Rancho Valencia notoriety. Luxury Resort and/or Full-service Hotel experience required. This is NOT a security guard position ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Welcome and acknowledge all resort guests, villa owners, residents, vendors and employees in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service. Provide basic information regarding the resort and directs guests to the appropriate place/department for further assistance. Communicate with other departments as needed to enhance the guest check-in process and arrival experience. Keep on-going log of resort vendors and visitors entering the resort and issuing passes when necessary. Answers phone within 3 rings in a courteous and professional manner. Always use proper telephone verbiage remembering to smile when speaking by phone. Uses guest’s name with proper title at least twice during conversation To provide security to the resort Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of all guests and residents personal information To report any problems to the manager on duty in a timely manner Always set up workstation with necessary supplies, car stickers, property maps, directions and maintain cleanliness throughout shift. Actively participates in safety programs and abides by all injury reporting and safety behavior requirements. Participate in and support hotel efforts towards community service, sustainability and environmental initiatives. Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Required Ability to smile, welcome, and converse with guests, visitors and co-workers in a professional and welcoming demeanor at all times. Ability to communicate in English with vendors, guests and staff, to their understanding. Basic computer knowledge. Desirable Able to work flexible shifts, early morning, late afternoon and evening shifts, as well as availability on weekends and holidays. Luxury Hospitality experience. Outgoing and engaging personality. SKILLS Required Strong customer service skills Good communication skills in order to handle special requests and challenging situations. Must have good knowledge of proper telephone manners and etiquette. Ability to work without direct supervision. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to stand for extended periods of time, remain stationery at assigned post for extended periods of time Ability to work in various environments including adverse weather conditions such as cold, rain or heat Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property. Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity. Occasional need to stand for long periods of time. Lifting/carrying up to 15 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally. Vision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach. Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment. This position is a full-time position at 32 hours (2) shifts are from 6AM to 2:30PM and (2) shifts are from 2:30PM to 11PM.
