WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE A SUCCESSFUL ENGLISH TEACHER AT ACTIVATE LEARNING?

We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.
Understanding the importance of tailoring our teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners. When working with a group of low-level GCSE learners (grade 3-4), it’s essential to use strategies that promote engagement, accommodate diverse learning styles, and build a strong foundation for academic growth.
Previous teaching experience in the FE sector would be an advantage, but it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications or experience to teach on our courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

For this role you will need the following:

• A level 3 qualification in English or a related subject
• A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Activate Learning are looking for a GCSE English Teacher to join our our established and supportive Lifeskills teaching team at Reading College.
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and passionate individuals with the ability to inspire, so that our students studying on our English GCSE and foundation courses have a memorable learning experience.
This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. Alternatively, this could be an ideal development opportunity for a newly qualified teacher or Maths graduate looking to get into teaching.
This is a permanent, full-time contract based at our Reading College campus.
