SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:



    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

    • Minimum 1 year of experience in an automotive testing role or similar position.
    • Proficient in the use of scan tools (VDS, Canbox), data loggers, and diagnostic/testing equipment in an automotive environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
    • Familiarity with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
    • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin.
    Responsibilities

    Based in BYD’s Melbourne office in Mulgrave, this role will support our BYD Automotive Engineering Research Institute Team. On offer is a Product Test Engineer position and your day-to-day duties will include but not be limited to:

    • Design, plan, and execute tests on vehicle systems, components, and complete vehicles.
    • Collaborate closely with R&D Engineering teams to ensure compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
    • Set up vehicles with scan tools, data loggers, and other test equipment for a variety of vehicle tests.
    • Analyze data and prepare detailed test reports; communicate findings clearly to engineering teams and stakeholders.
    • Identify and drive improvements in testing methodologies, tools, and workflows.
    • Stay informed of the latest advancements in automotive technologies and testing best practices.
