  • Currently studying a Business or Law Related Degree Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree
  • On course to achieve a 2:1 degree or above
  • To be in your penultimate year of study and returning to education post placement

Responsibilities

In the 12-month Contracts Manager Placement, you’ll gain invaluable skills and experience in covering all aspects of contract management including risk review, contract drafting and negotiation, protecting our intellectual property, corporate governance and board meetings, assisting on commercial real estate matters and working with our Compliance function. You could be assisting with drafting and negotiating the contractual agreements for the sale of our products and purchases from our suppliers, whilst also gaining experience in M&A transactions, GE Aerospace’s Compliance program, international trade controls, research tasks and monitoring changes in applicable laws (and its impact on the business).
The UK Contracts Team is made up of contract specialists based at Cheltenham but who also support other Systems businesses in the UK. During the placement, you will gain valuable insight into the running of a busy Contracts department and have responsibility for many projects including exciting fast jet, civil airliner and military helicopters. You will work closely with other members of the Contracts organization locally, and as part of a wider UK and global Contracts team, whilst also working closely with the GE Aerospace Legal team. You may also get the opportunity to undertake business travel in the UK and possibly overseas.
You will be guided by structured goals and objectives and will have responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects supported by your People Leader and team around you. We will guide you throughout the year to ensure you make the best of your GE Aerospace experience. Your People Leader will offer coaching and mentoring, and you will be provided with the opportunity to connect with other placement students across the UK.
This opportunity is offered in our Cheltenham site.
