Program Background DT Global has been engaged by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to manage the next phase of Australia’s investment in strengthening the delivery of law and justice services in Papua New Guinea for a 4-year period to 31 December 2027. APLJ seeks to contribute to PNG’s law and justice sector capacity to provide inclusive, safe, secure and accountable law and justice foundations for peaceful and prosperous communities, equitable economic development and private sector growth. The program aligns with the Government of Papua New Guinea’s (GoPNG) law and justice sector goal of ‘building peaceful and prosperous communities together’. APLJ will focus on three End of Program Outcomes (EOPOs): EOPO 1 – Community Safety and Access to Justice at the Local Level: Communities in target locations, especially women, children, persons with disabilities, vulnerable people and those accused of sorcery, have improved access to selected justice and support services. EOPO 2 – Law and Justice Services Supply: Responsible law and justice sector agencies increasingly provide selected inclusive, responsive, and accountable essential law and justice services in target locations. EOPO 3 – Leadership, Coordination and Accountability: Responsible law and justice mechanisms demonstrate improved sectoral leadership and coordination of national and subnational law and justice services and improved sector integrity systems. For more information, please see www.dt-global.com The Role The GEDSI Lead will lead APLJ’s GEDSI strategies to ensure coherence and integration of GEDSI across all program plans and activities as a basis for people-focused problem analysis and problem-solving. The Lead will report to the Deputy Team Leader and lead a team of GEDSI specialists who will work across the program and with partners to develop targeted strategies for identified issues and contribute to improved justice services for women, girls, people living with a disability, people accused of sorcery and victims/survivors of violence and other marginalised groups. The GEDSI Lead will also sit on the Senior Management Team, ensuring collaboration and coherence across APLJ while effectively seizing opportunities for impact. Click on the link or copy paste it to access the full Terms of Reference for this position: https://tinyurl.com/2rn9ksnw About You The preferred candidate will have: · Tertiary qualifications related to law, human rights, gender/social studies, international development. · Strong technical background in gender and inclusion, addressing GBV/FSV/SARV, community/civil society engagement, social change, and law and justice · Experience strengthening GEDSI capabilities within institutions, community-based organisations, communities, and program advisers and staff; advocating for gender equality and disability equity or achieve gender equality outcomes. · Knowledge and understanding of the intersectional issues related to GEDSI, GBV, FSV and SARV in the PNG context. · Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and cross-program collaboration skills. · Experience working on international development programs, including project planning; delivering results and demonstrating impact. · Experience in developing and/or working within sound MERL systems and using evidence for adaptive management and decision-making.
