Description Job Description: Applies Gelcoat to the hull, deck molds, and small parts according to production orders. Duties and Responsibilities: Be able to spray Gelcoat, check for the proper millage, read orders, and apply the corresponding color requested. Be able to apply hull and deck identifying numbers in the proper place. Stock Gelcoat. Clean Filters and pumps at required intervals. You will be taping, wrapping, and prepping molds to be gel coated. Keep the work area clean and orderly. Follow instructions of the Supervisor/foreman/lead. Work with a team to complete daily tasks. Must be able to wear a full mask respirator. Be able to identify the different hulls and decks that need to be gel-coated. Be able to use small hand tools, including scissors, razors, knives, etc. Inspects all parts to be complete and up to quality standards. Any other duties as assigned by management. Skills and abilities for success in this position: Give full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made and asking questions as appropriate. Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents. Manage one’s own time and respect the time of others. Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Must be able to work effectively individually or with a team. Must be able to perform tasks under time pressure deadlines. Must have strong attention to detail. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. Requirements Tools used in this occupation include but are not limited to: Personal Protective Equipment- Safety Glasses, full-mask respirator, Tyvek protection suit. Hand Tools- gelcoat gun, razor knife, and scissors. Working directly with gelcoat, fiberglass, and resin. Knowledge includes but is not limited to: Be able to drive a forklift. Be able to use and maintain a variety of hand tools. Knowledge of production processes and quality control. Physical and Work Requirements: Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature. Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods. Must be able to climb into and out of the interior of boats. Must be able to wear proper safety equipment as needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary. The ability to see details at close range. Be able to use and maintain small hand tools (grinder, scraper, razor knife, blower, etc.) This is a safety-sensitive position.
Responsibilities
