ABOUT OUR GROUP:

We are the Global Factory Information Technologies (GFIT) team at Seagate. Our mission is to drive digital transformation across Seagate’s global manufacturing operations. We develop and implement data-driven solutions that enable real-time decision-making, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation.
Starting in 2025, we will expand our focus to include Generative AI (GenAI) as a core enabler of smart factory innovation. This will involve using GenAI to enhance process optimization, automate knowledge generation, and create intelligent digital assistants that support factory operations

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about AI and excited to explore the frontiers of Generative AI in real-world industrial settings. You should be:

  • Curious, proactive, and able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interest in applying AI to real-world manufacturing problems.

YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiar with Generative AI concepts, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
  • Good programming skills in C#.NET / VB.NET, experience with Java is a bonus
Responsibilities

As a Generative AI Intern within the GFIT Team to contribute to the PARIS Suite of factory applications. This role will focus on embedding Generative AI capabilities to improve user interaction, reporting, and decision support. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and prototyping GenAI models for factory use cases.
  • Integrating AI-powered features into PARIS Suite, including AI Assistant for natural language queries.
  • Enhancing reporting, visualization, and contextual recommendations using Generative AI and LLM APIs.
  • Supporting shadow deployment and testing of AI features within factory workflows.
  • Collaborating with engineers and SMEs to ensure AI outputs are accurate and actionable.

This is a high-impact role where your work will contribute to Seagate’s next-generation smart factory capabilities.
