Description

The General Accountant is responsible for managing key general accounting processes to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. This role focuses on core accounting activities such as prepaid expense management, intercompany reconciliations, sales tax filings, high-volume transactional reconciliations, and account balancing. The General Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller to support the monthly close process, maintain compliance, and prepare for audits. This is a hands-on accounting role that contributes to the financial integrity and operational effectiveness of the Accounting team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated expertise in reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Experience filing sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience working with enterprise ERP systems; NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of prepaid accounting, intercompany, and transaction volume management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, accounting, and finding/fixing discrepancies.
  • A comprehensive understanding of journal entries.
  • Experience in a professional services or project-based environment is preferred.
  • Experience with government contracting is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Applicants are subject to government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements related to the clearance process.
